#BlackExcellenceBoston Pt. 1

I had just gotten back from a family weekend getaway for the fourth and it was just the rejuvenation I needed.  Sadly that rejuvenation would quickly vanish and turn into depression.  I did my regular morning check in on Instagram and was greeted by a black post with white writing that read #ALTONSTERLING.  Instantly my heart dropped  thinking “No not another killing”. Not a time to be right, but I was.  The hash tag gave me a front row seat to a killing of a Louisiana father who was selling CD’s. *Sigh* . After watching different angles of this  man’s death  and hours of CNN coverage it was time  to  pray and go to bed in hopes to wake up with half the load that was piercing my heart. #PHILANDROCASTILE appeared on my screen the next morning.  At this point I’m almost certain that this was a throwback #BlackLivesMatter name  that may not  have circulated enough. Nope!…..it was another black man shot, this time while in the car with his girlfriend and daughter. Also accompanied by  video.  That is when it …

Thigh highs And Short Shorts

A few  years ago I remember getting dressed one summer day to go to a barbeque and having a light bulb moment  to wear short shorts and and knee high(close to thigh high) boots.  This wasn’t a light bulb moment because I had invented  the look, but because rarely did people wear that during the Summer. If they did it wasn’t anywhere around Boston.  Sure enough I wore it, loved it and got stares…..didn’t have not one care. So like most people even your most confident dresser second guesses some trends  and  fashion risks. Try it anyways! This weekend will be the perfect weekend to revisit this trend and or try it for the first time. Kick your sweats, sneakers, flip flops and join the shorts and thigh high movement. Boots Last worn Here   “Thigh high boots are meant for rebels.  Statement makers and risk takers.” Can you tell how excited I am about the look?!     If a cape or long jacket isn’t your thing then consider these below options   Men’s White Tee shirt …

#BostonCoffeeTalk FT. Heather C. White

June’s Coffee Talk featured Heather c. White, the founder of  the high energy workout sessions TRILLFIT. I first got introduced ti the company while scrolling down my Instagram feed.  Big gold balloons spelling TRILLFIT with a group of Women in work out gear stopped me in my tracks.  I thought yaaaaas to whatever this is! With a name like that I was certain this wasn’t your average workout.   Sure enough I was right. Made it to the class and was so happy with the overall workout. Already a music head, I was excited to workout to some good ole reggae and hip hop while learning some new moves.  Not to be fooled though….the workout put me to the test.  The dance routines were cute, but strategic and hit all the right spots.  Happy to say my abs, legs and buttocks was sore.   Attendees for Coffee Talk was asked to come in their favorite athletic gear. We discussed fitness and the importance of it as women on the move.   Learned so much from the ladies and …
