Month: January 2016

#BostonCoffeeTalk Jan. Ft. Dunstan Dubique

#BostonCoffeeTalk Jan 23, 2016 Location: Caffe Nero Jamaica Plain Boston, MA 02130 This month’s #BostonCoffeeTalk was the first featured guest edition with Dunstan Dubique .  Handsome Boy Clothing caught my attention 10 years ago.  I  kept seeing it on Facebook and on local fashion influencers in Boston. I didn’t meet the Man behind the brand until much years later.  “I know who you are! You’re the Man behind Handsome Boy…with the bow tie!”(a lot of hand gestures) is what I said to Dunstan  when I finally met him. From his creative work with his brand  to his work as the General Manager at  G-Star Raw Boston ; he has remained  a mainstay in Boston Fashion .  It made all the sense for me to reach out to this pioneer and ask that he be our first guest. As I mentioned in the recap video, I’m always impressed and shocked at the amazing people and energy that joins coffee talk every month. I believe when our intentions are good and we are open amazing things will happen and …

Lately- Favorite books

Happy Monday! If you follow me on Snapchat, Instagram or Facebook then you already know about my recent obsession with these two books. Since last year I went back to one of my favorite, but neglected hobbies of reading. I have quite a few others, but right now these two books are my favorites.  So good that I looked forward to sneaking in an additional chapter anytime I could. I.e while waiting for my children during parent pick up, doctors visit…..pretty much any free time.I believe we are drawn to books that’s aligned with our lifestyle, vision or where we want to be. Year Of Yes By Shonda Rhimes Shonda Rhimes definitely got my attention with her consistent jaw dropping TV show Scandal, but I didn’t know what to expect from “Year Of Yes”.  Shonda has a unique  style of writing. One that’s witty, raw and transparent while still getting the point across. I laughed, cried and did a few fist pumps. You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero I first came across this book via Myleik’s …

Boston Coffee Talk-Year end recap

“How can I constantly  relive this feeling of inspiration with a bunch of creatives?” …is the question that lead to the birth of Boston Coffee Talk.  I’ve been having  #BostonCoffeeTalk  since September, one in NY for November and this last one for the year in December. Here is a raw footage  recap of the December #BostonCoffeeTalk 12/19/15 at Ogawa Coffee USA . Video credit: Tony Hyppolite I’ve taken all of your feedback’s and want to ensure that if interested you know of the up and coming Boston Coffee Talks. Some, depending on the day and time miss the social media posting, so I’ve decided to create a BCT list for anyone who would want an email reminder.  email me with your email address if interested. In addition to that I’ll also be posting at least 5 days in advance. Next Coffee Talk is next Saturday 1/23/16 at Caffe Nero Jamaica Plain 10am-12pm Featuring Dunstan Dubique as the first creative guest. Thanks a million for all of the love, support, shares and attendance!  Looking forward to meeting more local creatives …

”Who’s The Boss?”

Not the 80’s show where “Angela” had the best trousers, but the question you have to ask yourself when you almost second guess a not so common outfit that you really love.  A lot of people ask me how I manage to put some of my outfits together.  I pretty much freestyle, go with my gut  then make it work. Of course I laugh sometimes like ” You have the nerves”  But then I remind myself that it’s my style so I call the shots.  I’m the Boss. We all have personal style.  Some of us have found it. Some of us are still figuring it out. Some are in transition with theirs. If it feels good do it.  It’s always the first thought that rules.  If you don’t like it  afterwards then make the change the next time you wear that piece or outfit. Just enjoy the thrill of going against that silly voice that says it wont go. I purchased these sweet sweet pants from Boomerangs JP.  I was thrifting and purchased it …

Tell me why again?

Yesterday it was about 39 degrees and windy out.  And here I was shooting outside with my photographer eyes watering and all.  I didn’t have too many layers on and the cold was  all in my bones.   I thought “Now why the hell are you out here again?”  I laughed and remembered asking myself this same question around this  time  last year  in the below pics a week before NYFW. So the same answer I had last year was the same one I came up with  yesterday.  ” I love it! I can’t imagine not doing it….duh…I mean come on is quitting ever an option?!” <<<<<all this in a matter of seconds. When people come up to me and tell me a post or an outfit inspired them.  The excitement and glow in my clients face from a closet evaluation. And this  is just a few out of many reasons. Decided a while ago that this was success and when I can repeat this feeling over and over again I’m successful.  Those priceless moments provide me …
