DIY Exposed Shoulder Blouse

Making your own Exposed Shoulder Blouse is easier than you think! I am a sucker for exposed shoulders and collar bones.  Its just the right amount of sultry while not having to go too bare. I’ve always been a DIY-er, sometimes by mistake and sometimes intentional like this top. The last few months my obsession has been off the shoulder looks, preferably with Men’s Shirts. Their cut is more comfortable with less restrictions in movement. After many requests from followers and being stopped last week at fashion week I decided to finally do a video. If you are worried about the Fall…cut it out! Do it with knits or thicker shirts. Throw on a jacket or a scarf and your’e good to go! Below are two different ways I wear this style. “V CUT” Button fewer buttons at the top in order to have more shoulder, chest and back exposure Wearing a Men’s Large shirt. “Pinched”( tighter fit) 1)Button as much buttons as possible while having shirt on shoulders. 2) Fold and push up sleeves for “Balloon …

NYFW Day 2- Stay True

This day was the day I started to lose feeling in my right big toe.  This is typical Fashion week effects except a day sooner. Mind you I carry flats while commuting. Unlike the day before, the sun decided to come out so that was a good start already. Because I don’t like to pre-plan outfits, I wake up a tad bit earlier each day in order to dress according to my mood.  Yes you should always be ready for a capture and look your best, but staying true is the most important. Kind of hard to predict how I’m going to feel a whole day before. Decided on this gem of a dress and added a Men’s shirt to give it a more laid back touch. The fit without it was borderline 80’s secretary(had exaggerated shoulder pads) so the shirt balanced everything out.   I covered quite a  few shows that day the first one being Zimmermann.  This was the one show that was worth the long line. Like a kid in a candy store, …

NYFW DAY 1

Even though the forecast mentioned rain for the first day of NYFW, I still had hope for sunshine and definitely did not expect that nasty on and off down fall…ALL DAY. But because I came to werk it didn’t matter what the weather was cause there were shows to attend! I decided to dress the total opposite of the gloomy weather and went for this amazing vintage romper. Solange blaring in the background…my mood was all of a sudden uplifted and ready to take on Day 1. “Nature calls”….After three seasons of attending Leanne Marshall  shows I am still impressed and inspired by her work.  Caught up with the designer backstage where she shared the inspiration for this collection. Check it out on Periscope: vanavain. picture source  And then desert was served at Desigual! It was like a burst of the sweetest  treat with a bomb after taste leaving you wanting for more.  Like so so good. DIY was very much alive and represented here. Denim head wraps and DIY jewel embellished knee highs. More …

Boston Coffee Talk- Ogawa Coffee

Last Saturday Sep 5th, I hosted a meet up called “Coffee Talk” #Bostoncoffeetalk.  I wanted to meet, socialize and build with other Bostonians in an organic way. No rsvps and no excessive advertising….just come out and have coffee. For me the mornings are when I reflect and set the tone for my day, so what better way to do it with others than over coffee in an intimate setting.  Ogawa Coffee was my first choice to hold this first meet up. A sucker for presentation, I immediately fell in love with the shops high ceilings and their inviting exposed windows.  Happy to say that the customer service and food was nothing short of amazing. Another talk is definitely on the way. Stay tuned for details.   Here are some snaps and street style  from the day. Photographer: Harem Graphia   Here is a video from the meet up! Subscribe and hope to see you at the next one! Thank you to everyone who attended and to the Ogawa Coffee team for a wonderful experience!!!! Share This:

In charge- In his shirt. 5 reasons to invest in Men’s collard shirts.

The term “Wear the pants” is one that we’ve all heard before, but I’m good. Keep the pants and let me have the shirt.  Thanks. Men’s shirts are just so comfortable and always a good look.  I can’t think of one reason why all Women don’t own one.  We deal with a lot, but when it comes to dressing- How fortunate are we to be able to shop in our spouses, Father’s or Brother’s closets? Too damn fortunate if you ask me.     Personally I  feel hella sexy in a Men’s shirt.  Sexy is about the feeling and not the fit. Even if covered up head to toe, the sexy will be seen in your posture, eyes and walk to name a few. Leave a button or two undone, sleeves rolled up and I’m ready to take on the world…close a deal of some sort! So get the shopping and get the sneaking in those closets. But imagine you do steal it and show up with it on date night?!…Like “Hey boo *wink*”  He …

Vibrant thang

Oh Man! So just the other day we were complaining about too much Snow and just like that Summer is almost gone. I’ve been relaxing, laying low during the day (when I’m not out with the kids) and coming out at night.  There is just no talking and functioning when you feel like a sweat box. Eww. Anyways, besides those complaints life has been pretty freaking amazing.  Just within the last few moths I’ve learned so much, grown so much and had life changing experiences.  I swear 30 has been the best age for me. Spiritually, personally and professionally I have seen and  felt the growth. I’m Just on this high that I want to share with everyone any way I can. Like “Come here”, “Give me a hug dammit”…. On my Oprah steez “You get a hug” “you get a kiss!” but seriously its been that way. Nobody has time for that garbage energy…its contagious too. Anyways lets get into this vibrant little number. Y’all know I can’t stay away from color too long.  The last few weeks I’ve compromised for some …
